What information does CDM collect?
For family registration, the following information is required from one adult: First Name, Middle Initial, Zip Code, Country and E-mail Address. For each child included in the Family Registration, the following information is required: First Name and Month and Year of Birth. Birth date information allows us to determine whether the child is under 13 years of age and if verifiable parental or guardian consent is required under the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act.
For e-commerce transactions, the collection of Personally Identifiable Information will be required. This information will be processed through and stored on secure servers. Examples of e-commerce transactions include, but are not limited to: the purchase of Museum membership; the scheduling of group visits, outreach programs, facility use and birthday parties; reservation for in-house programs; and the purchase of items from the Museum's retail store.
How is the information used?
Information collected through family and educator registrations will be used to enhance the interactive activities, to allow for customization, such as personal recognition, and to provide specific opportunities on-line and at the Museum which are available only to Web site registrants.
